Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the Kingdom of Bahrain

The highly anticipated 2025 Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) is now accepting applications! 🤩🧑‍🎓

1. Available Degree Programs: 

Master's Degree: One year of Korean language training followed by a two-year degree program.

Doctoral Degree: One year of Korean language training followed by a three-year degree program.

Research Program: Six months or one year.

2. Fields of Study and Universities: 

Refer to the University Information document for a comprehensive list of available fields and universities. 

3. Program Quota (Embassy Track - Bahrain): 🇧🇭

Three (3) scholarships are available for Bahraini applicants.

4. Benefits : Tuition, Korean language training fees, round-trip airfare, monthly allowance

5. Eligibility Requirements: 

Nationality: Applicants must be Bahraini citizens. Neither applicant's parent may hold Korean nationality.

Age: Applicants must be under 40 years of age (born after September 1, 1985).

Academic Requirements: Please consult the program guidelines for detailed academic eligibility criteria.

Ineligibility: Individuals who have graduated from a Korean high school or university, or who have previously received a Korean government scholarship, are not eligible to apply.

7. Application Process (Embassy Track): 

Application Deadline: March 2, 2025, 14:00 

The applicant should submit their own application in person at the embassy's consular office during 09:00-11:30, 14:00-15:30. 

Number of documents to submit : 1 Original + 4 copies 

First Round Evaluation: Document review(TBD)

Second Round Evaluation: Interview(TBD) 

Final Announcement: Expected by March 20, 2025

All applicants are recommended to register their information on eShabab portal which is run by the Ministry of Youth Affairs in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Applicant's English name MUST match the name on their passport. (Guidelines Page 23) 🆔

-> Any discrepancy in applicant's name(family, given, middle name) will cause a delay in relevant process. 

Application documents must be submitted in the order of the "Application Checklist." which itself should be the front cover of each set of application documents.
